Quenched and tempered steels non-alloyed
Carbon-only steels, temperable
The various types of non-alloyed steels, i.e. without the addition of alloy elements, differ from one another in particular due to the greater or lesser presence of carbon - the higher the carbon content, the greater the hardness of the steel in question after the quenching and tempering treatment.
Non-alloyed quenched and tempered steels in any case have a limited temperability and do not allow, even when tempered in water, well-transformed structures to be obtained on pieces with elevated thickness.
RANGE Quenched and tempered steels non-alloyed
-
Rodacciai Mark
KV20
R20PbSteel name
C22E - Nr.1.1151
Non-alloy steel with very low temperability, temperable only in water and used for simple and small pieces. Often used without the quenching and tempering treatment.
-
Rodacciai Mark
KV30
R30SSteel name
C30E - Nr.1.1178
C30R - Nr.1.1179Non-alloy steel quenchable and temperable in water with higher carbon contents than KV20. Used for simple pieces of limited size.
-
Rodacciai Mark
KV35
R35PbSteel name
C35E - Nr.1.1181
C35R - Nr.1.1180Non-alloy steel quenchable and temperable in water, higher carbon content than the previous types. Widely used thanks to its slightly higher temperability.
-
Rodacciai Mark
KV40
R40S
R40PbSteel name
C40E - Nr.1.1186
C40R - Nr.1.1189Non-alloy steel quenchable and temperable in water and oil, allows higher mechanical characteristics to be obtained. It is one of the most used steels in Europe.
-
Rodacciai Mark
KV45
R45S
R45PBSteel name
C45E - Nr.1.1191
C45R - Nr.1.1201Non-alloy steel, quenchable and temperable in water and oil. Pieces of a particular size with sufficiently transformed structures can be extracted. It is one of the most used steels in Europe.
-
Rodacciai Mark
KV50
R50PbSteel name
C50E - Nr.1.1206
Non-alloy steel quenchable and temperable in oil, with high carbon levels, allows pieces with rather high hardness to be obtained. Also suitable for surface tempering.
-
Rodacciai Mark
R55
Steel name
C55E - Nr.1.1203
The high carbon levels of this non-alloy quenched and tempered steel allow high hardness and transformed structures to be obtained even in pieces of considerable size. Often used for surface tempering.
